Cyclists Welcome information centre opened
Cyclist Welcome Centre opened in Tallinn
At the beginning of Summer, 21st June, Cyclist Welcome Centre was opened at Vene 33, Old Town of Tallinn.
Cyclist Welcome Centre (CWC) aims to help long distance cyclists riding in the Baltic Sea Region.
The main focus is on Estonian regions.
- Free maps and regional information
- Free wifi is available, also laptop for browsing
- Printing option for tickets or other materials
- Bicycle mechanic working 10-19:00 every day (also selection of spare parts)
- Experienced locals to guide and recommend routes, places, events etc.
Estonian regional maps are divided into 15 counties and are pretty detailed. Maps, regional routes and booklets are available. It is a good place to discover hidden gems and possibilities and dive deeper into local culture and smaller places.
Although the thoughts of opening some sort of cyclists information centre have been in mind for a long time already, they finally formulated with help of partners and similar activities for cyclists:
- Project: Bike across the Baltic – Improving bicycle tourism around the Baltic Sea https://interreg-baltic.eu/project/bab/
- Bikeland and their Welcome Cyclists network – https://www.bikeland.fi/en/
- Eurovelo 10 and 13 https://visitestonia.com/en/eurovelo-cycling-routes-10-13
- Eurovelo 11 https://visitestonia.com/en/eurovelo-cycling-route-11
- And the work doesn’t stop there, we are working on blog articles and routes, to make Estonia more easy to discover on bicycle. Small countryside roads or nature trails.
To make discovering maps and materials more convenient, an agreement with the Local Food Experience centre has been made. Coffee, drinks and snacks are next door (literally 10 meters, toretoit.ee
The centre is managed by City Bike Ltd and Cycling Estonia Ltd. Open daily 10:00-19:00.
