🚲 Key Guidelines

Late Returns

We understand that plans can change, so we offer a small grace period:

  • 3–6 hour rentals: up to 30 minutes free
  • 24-hour rentals or longer: up to 60 minutes free

✔️ If you rent a bike in the morning for 24 hours, you can return it the next evening — no problem.

After the grace period:

  • Additional time is charged at €3 per hour, or
  • The next rental period applies (we always choose the most cost-effective option for you).

⚠️ Returning after closing time:

  • A staff service fee of €20 per hour applies.

🔧 Bicycle Condition & Responsibility

We take great care to keep our bikes in excellent condition.

Before you leave:

  • Please take a short test ride
  • Let us know if anything needs adjustment — we’ll fix it on the spot

Once you leave the shop, the bicycle becomes your responsibility.

This includes, for example:

  • Flat tires
  • Broken chains (often caused by shifting under heavy load)
  • Damage due to accidents (yourself or third parties)

💡 Note: You are only charged for items that are used or missing (e.g. spare tube or chain link).

🚐 Transport Service

If you need assistance during your rental, we can help:

  • Within Tallinn: €25
  • Outside Tallinn: €0.80/km + €20/hour staff fee

RENTAL CONDITIONS
Detailed rental conditions are available in the City Bike Office. The Customer, by signing the contract, confirms that he/she is familiar with the detailed rental conditions.
Damages to City Bike’s Property

  • Customer is fully and unconditionally responsible for bicycles and other equipment rented from City Bike between the delivery by City Bike and collection by City Bike staff. In case of damage or theft, costumer is obliged to pay the value of equipment, according to City Bike prices.

Deposit

  • We book 100 EUR per bike or 200 EUR for eBikes on your credit card. As soon as we have our equipment back (bike, lock, bags, anything you rented from us) and everything is ok, we release the booking.

Parking your bikes overnight

  • When parking bikes for longer time (including overnight) City Bike must be stored inside, in a securely locked room. Customers are obliged to lock the bikes when leaving them unattended so, that removal of bikes by others is impossible.

Cancellation policy

  • City Bike offers for city tour and rental bookings 100% refund if the cancellation is sent at least 14 days before the tour/rental starting.
  • City tours on bicycle and prebooked bicycle rentals are charged 20% of total price if canceled less than 72 hours prior to start time. Before that deadline 100% refund.
  • City tours on bicycle and prebooked bicycle rentals are charged 100% of total price if canceled less than 24 hours prior to start time.
  • For special events service provider may change the cancellation policy and refund is not made for cancellations made less than 60 days before the rental starting (Ironman Tallinn, Ironman Estonia, Tartu Rattaralli, Grand Fondo Estonia)

Cancellation policy for self-guided tour packages and special group tours

  • City Bike Ltd offers for Self-guided tour bookings full refund if the cancellation is sent at least 14 days before the tour starting (45 EUR office desk fee is deducted from the payment. This covers office time spent for bookings, correspondance and payment charges).
  • Below 14 days made cancellations are charged 20% of package price (50% advance payment will not be paid back in full).
  • Below 24 hours of the self-guided tour start 50% of the package price will be charged.

Safety
Clients may participate in our tours at their own risk. Tour participants must obey traffic regulations at all times. City Bike is not liable for injury or damage caused by willful or negligent behavior of tour participants. Participants must decide themselves if they are in an appropriate state to be able to safely complete the tour.

Accidents
If the customer is involved in a road accident, the customer must call the police to the location of the accident and request an accident registration number. This number and the details of the accident must be communicated to City Bike.

Damages
If a bike is damaged or any other problem(s) is experienced with a bike, please contact City Bike at mail@citybike.ee or call +372 5111819 during opening hours (10.00-19.00, daily).
Damages to a bike, while a bike is in the renter’s custody are the renter’s responsibility.
City Bike reserves the right to charge for the cost of damages.

The luggage carrier on the bike is not designed for transporting people and will sustain damage when doing so.

A bike is deemed “not repairable” at the discretion of City Bike and its employees.

Lock or keys damaged/lost
If the keys are lost, contact City Bike and we will provide the renter with a new set of keys or a new lock. This comes at a maximum price of 60€.

Theft
In case of theft or loss, we have to be informed immediately. If the bike(s) have been stolen, you are required to go to the nearest police station and report it. The police will give you a copy of the report, which we need from you to follow up on the theft.

The costs for replacing a stolen bike are as follows:
– normal adult city bike: 450€ – 990€
– road / gravel / trekking bike: 690 – 1290€
– children’s bike: 250€
– e-Bike: 2690€
– e-Cargo: 2990€
– tandem: 799€

That amount can be reduced 70%, by paying an Rental protection of +10% of the booking cost.

An additional 30€ will be charged if a child seat has been mounted on the stolen bike.

All our bikes are well maintained and in a proper working order. It is your responsibility to check the bike before setting out.
With your signature you confirm that you have received the bike(s) in proper working order.

 

RENDITINGIMUSED
Rentides jalgratta online broneeringuga internetis, eritellimusena e-kirja teel või kohapeal rendilepingut täites NÕUSTUB KLIENT KODULEHEL TOODUD TINGIMUSTEGA.
Varustuse rentimisel saab rentija varustuse piirtud õigusega omanikuks. Piiratud õigused tähendavad, et, rentijal ei ole lubatud renditud vara edasi rentida, müüa, pantida ega muul moel üle anda kolmandale osapoolele, kui ei ole kirjalikult rendileandja poolt seda lepingus sätestatud. Jalgrattaid ja rattavarustust rendile võttes kannab klient täielikku ja tingimusteta vastutust jalgrataste ja muu varustuse säilimise ja heaperemeheliku kasutuse eest alates üleandmisest kuni tagastamise ja vastuvõtmiseni City Bike OÜ töötaja poolt. Vara mittetagastamisel kohustub rentija tasuma vara väärtuse teenusepakkuja hinnakirja alusel (vargus, kaotus, liiklus õnnetus jt.).
City Bike OÜ soovitab tungivalt paigutada jalgrattad pikemalt parkides (seal hulgas öisel ajal) lukustatult turvalisse siseruumi.
Klient on kohustatud jalgrataste valveta jätmisel jalgrattad lukustama selliselt, et nende kõrvaldamine parkimiskohast võõra isiku poolt on võimatu või raskendatud. Kõikidest varustuse ja jalgrataste puudustest tuleb rendileandjat teavitada koheselt rendivarustuse vastuvõtmisel rentija poolt. Rendileandja soovitab alati enne pikema rendiperioodi algust testida rendivarustust ning vajadusel korrigeerida seadistust (käigud, pidurid, muud käepärased seadistused). Rendileandja kontrollib tagastatava varustuse seisukorda ning see peab vastama tehnilisele korrale, milles see väljastati ning olema kompleksne.Puudused kõrvaldatakse rendilevõtja kulul, rendileandja poolt seatud hinnakirja alusel või neutraalse osapoole (jalgrattaremont/-hooldus) poolt teostatava hinnakirja alusel.City Bike OÜ ei vastuta kahjude eest, mis võivad tekkida jalgrataste ja muu varustuse ebaõigest kasutusest (ohtlikud sõiduvõtted, ebasobiv jalgrattamudel, liiga suur/väike rattaraami suurus jne.).Rentija peab jätma rendilepingut sõlmides tagatise City Bike OÜ hoolde: 100-300 EUR, olenevalt renditava vara väärtusest (sularaha, krediitkaardi broneering, makse pangakontole, koostöölepingu ja krediidivõimekuse korral aktsepteerime ka ettevõtete garantiikirja).ETTEMAKSU TAGASTUS JA TÜHISTAMISEDTeenuse pakkujal on õigus küsida rendiesemete ja pakutavate teenuste broneerimisel ettemaksu. Ettemaksu suurus on üldjuhul 100% teenuse maksumusest.Ettemaksu tasumine tagab broneeritud varustuse ja teenuse ettevalmistuse (hooldus, inimeste planeerimine).Tellitud teenuse tühistamine:

  • kuni 48h enne rendi/teenuse pakkumise algust tagastame ettemaksu.
  • 20% teenuse maksumusest kui tühistusperiood jääb alla 48h

Teenusepakkujal on õigus kehtestada erinevaid ettemaksu- ja tühistamistingimusi suure nõudlusega perioodideks. Vastavasisuline teavitus peab olema teada antud ka kliendile enne suurema ettemaksu küsimist ja rangemate tühistustingimuste määramist.
