Baltic Bike Rental – prices & conditions

You can rent bikes from Tallinn, Pärnu, Kuressaare, Riga, Vilnius, Klaipeda … You name the place … and one way. We organise the transportation back to the origin. It is like a one way bicycle tour, You choose the start and finish, choose the bicycle and gear and the rest is handled by rental stations.

In this blog post we will cover all technical details: bikes we have, transport prices, ordering and logistics!

As we operate from 2003 on bicycle rental business and it’s getting more and more popular, especially self-guided tours with independent cyclists we have teamed up with local partners.

All the transport and logistics will be agreed separately.

Here is in brief how it works and what you get. As every rental office has different bikes and a bit different policy! We have agreed prices and handling of bicycles.

Trekking, touring bicycles

  • we use Merida Crossway 500 models, frames 41-63 cm, male and female frames
  • we replace tires to puncture proof Schwalbe Marathon series
  • we have added rack, mud guards, bottle holder, kickstand, new stem to change the riders handlebar height
  • price for 5+ days is 14 EUR per day (premium bikes +2 EUR, new from 2023/2024 season)
  • deposit 100 EUR

Gravel and Road bikes

  • we use Merida Silex 300 and Corratec Allroad models (1 x 11 or 2 x 11 speeds)
  • we have changed tires to more puncture resistant models
  • you can add rack as extra to gravel or road bicycles (Ortlieb Quick-Rack)
  • price for 5+ days is 17 EUR per day (premium bikes +2 EUR, new from 2023/2024 season)
  • deposit 100 EUR

Electric bicycles

  • we have modern Cube electric bicycles with Bosch mid engines and batteries 625Wh
  • all our trekking e-bikes are with: rack, mud guards, lights, kick stand. Frames 42-61 cm, range up to 150 km.
  • price for 5+ days 28 EUR per day
  • deposit 200 EUR

Extras included

  • small repair bag with: patches, spare tube, multitool, tire lever; also included. One per couple or group.
  • Helmet and lock (Abus Bordo 6000) are included

Extras to order

  • Ortlieb Waterproof panniers, 2 x 20 litres, Back-Roller classic. 3 EUR per day or 17 EUR per week
  • Ortlieb Handlebar bags, 1.5 EUR per day
  • bikepacking bags for gravel and MTB bikes: seatpost bags, frame bags, handlebar bags
  • rack for gravel/road bike, 1.5 EUR per day
  • SPD or SPD SL pedals, 1 EUR per day (includes installation)

Delivery / collection and transport services

Below is list of standard fees, sometimes we manage to get also pick-ups from different locations but they tend to be more pricy and time consuming.

  • hotel pick-up in Tallinn, central area, up to 3 km from City Bike office – 5 EUR per bicycle (10-19.00), other times upon requests
  • Tallinn Airport pick-up or drop-off, 20 EUR (up to 4 passengers and bikes or boxes).
  • delivery to hotels – same as above. We don’t recommend that, you might want to regulate something, try another frame or take some extra gear – this is not possible in front of hotel, while in the office it is matter of seconds. And during summer we are really busy, no time during office hours.
  • Tallinn – Pärnu or vice versa 35 EUR (130 km) per bicycle, our partner or accommodation*
  • Tallinn – Riga or vice versa 45/55 EUR (300 km) per bicycle/e-bike, our partner or accommodation*
  • Tallinn – Vilnius or vice versa 55 EUR/65 EUR  (600 km) per bicycle/per e-bike, our partner or accommodation*
  • Tallinn – Klaipeda or vice versa 65 EUR/80 EUR  (600 km) per bicycle/per e-bike, our partner or accommodation*
  • other places upon request only (close by Tallinn from 0.7 EUR per km (actual distance counted, destination 60 km from Tallinn will be 2 x 60 km x 0.7 EUR =  84 EUR. Additionally 10 EUR per hour staff fee.

Certified accommodation with reception only. Private apartments are not suitable.
Bicycles will be delivered with our cargo partners and time of arrival/pick-up is not known, will be between 09-17.00. Transport companies can’t add any equipment or anything can be left on their hands (if you decide not to have helmets you ordered). It will not be City Bike staff or mechanics!
